Its origin
Buriti oil is a rich, moisturising natural product oil that is extracted from the nuts of the moriche palm, native to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. The plant is also occasionally found in the Cerrado and in the north-eastern and south-central regions of Brazil, as well as in locations in Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Guyana.
In 1859, during a campaign in South America, the researcher and pioneer Baron von Humboldt called the Moriche palm "the tree of life".
